SPiN - United by Ping Pong - Becomes “CO2 Neutral” in NY, SF, & Chicago

18-04-2017

In the summer of 2009, SPiN opened its flagship location in New York City. Today, the company has expanded to five venues with locations in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles and Toronto.  The brand has created an iconic ping pong culture, lifestyle, and movement. Ping pong is a sport that connects people regardless of age, gender, or background.

Since its creation, SPiN has supported underprivileged and marginalized youth living in urban centers through charitable events, financial donations, table donations, programming, mentoring, and an opportunity to escape into the game of ping pong. Over 60 ping pong tables were donated to youth organizations in New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles. SPiN is continuing its mission to support the community and the planet by calculating, reducing, and offsetting its carbon footprint in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago in an effort to promote social and environmental justice globally.

SPiN achieved CO2 neutrality through the support of a Gold-Standard certified climate project in Africa. The program provides efficient cooking stoves to Ugandan communities in order to prevent deforestation and related carbon emissions.

“At SPiN, we believe in the triple bottom line - people, planet, and profit. We want to grow our business while respecting the environment and giving back to the communities that we proudly serve.” said Pieter Vanermen, CEO of SPiN. “Partnering with CO2logic made it seamless for us to achieve our goal of reducing and compensating our carbon footprint and we hope that other companies also understand that we have a shared responsibility to do our part.”
