On Drylock technologies’ request, CO2logic has developed a tool to calculate the Product Carbon Footprint of hundreds of hygiene products (diapers, feminine hygiene products, …) throughout their entire life cycle (cradle-to-grave).

The aim of this tool was to assist Drylock Technologies in elaborating an overview of the climate impact of the products. This entails mapping all the life cycle stages of the products and contacting the suppliers to obtain primary data. The tool also allows to support Drylock Technologies in understanding where the current strengths and the improvement areas in terms of CO2 emissions are and to identify KPIs to follow the performance of the diaper over the years. Lastly, those analysis help to quantify the positive impact on the climate of recent decisions within the design/production process.

Built from the products bills of materials, this tool is flexible and therefore is constantly evolving, as new references are regularly added or previous ones adapted, in order to fit Drylock’s products continuous development and improvement. In just a few clicks, the PCF of a new product can be calculated, based on a real or a fictive bill of materials.


The results are very encouraging, due to the efforts of Drylock over the last years. As an illustration of these actions, the production sites are running on green electricity since 2019, and the group is always searching for new raw materials and new suppliers that would allow to reduce their products’ impact on climate change.

While Drylock continues its efforts to reduce its impact, the company has opted for carbon neutrality and now offsets the remaining greenhouse gases emissions of its production sites by supporting CO2logic’s climate project in India. Many of Drylock’s clients also opted for carbon neutrality at product level, by offsetting the remaining emissions occurring in the other life cycle stages.
