CO2logic’s project in Tanzania contributes to helping reduce the piles of rubbish accumulating in the streets in Dar es Salaam.
The city formerly a small coastal fishing village knows as Mzizima has rapidly grown in population to reach 2.5 million inhabitants. This waste collection project will help control the odors and improve hygiene in the city. Dysentery and Cholera spread by flies are two well know consequences of poor waste management in African cities.
The Waste Treatment Biogas project supports waste collection in the streets of this overpopulated city where infrastructure capacity is insufficient. The waste is treated and destroyed in an environmentally friendly manner.
The Methane gas which has a very high global warming impact and is a potent green house gas will be captures and destroyed thus reducing climate change and pollution. Sever poverty can be found in the city thus the employment and improved living conditions provided by this project will bring significant benefits and a more sustainable future to the local people of Tanzania.
