The objective of this tool is to calculate the carbon emissions associated with a distribution network in Belgium and Luxemburg.
In order to estimate the GHG emissions from your network, we propose a tier approach. Tier 1 is a simple first order approach with average emission factors and simplifying assumptions. Tier 2 is a more accurate approach with specific emission factors and activity data. The uncertainties are smaller than for tier 1. When available, the tier 3 approach is the most complex and accurate calculation of your distribution network.
The warehouse(s) or distribution center(s) will be considered as the center(s) of your distribution network (even if the warehouses are outsourced or shared with other users). Your total transportation emissions will be the sum of the emissions from your own vehicles and the emissions caused by your inbound (i.e. to the warehouse) and outbound (i.e. from the warehouse) outsourced freight transport. Your total logistics emissions will be the sum of your warehouse(s) emissions and your transportation emissions.
The level of accuracy you will obtain will vary according to the level of precision of the information provided and the number of questions you answered.
ATTENTION: The input data are specific to a flow of warehouse goods during one year.
